Distinguished Alumni:
Nancy Kinnard
Being a full-time student while working full-time requires extraordinary commitment and determination, but Nancy Kinnard proves it’s worth the effort.
Nancy earned an associate degree at Lane Community College in 1972 and went on for a bachelor’s degree at the University of Oregon, both in elementary education. She also earned a management certificate from Pomona College and chose banking as her career.
She started working at Oregon Mutual Savings and within five years became one of the first women bank managers in the area. She was a branch manager for 20 years and today she is the vice president of business relationships at Summit Bank.
Over the years, Nancy continued to take classes at Lane to advance her skills in accounting, financial analysis, and software applications.
She is a strong advocate for community college education and creates opportunities for college students to work at her bank while attending school, offering flexible work schedules.
Nancy has earned many awards from employers and the community. She has served on the boards of the Eugene Chamber of Commerce, American Red Cross, Marist Foundation, Volunteers in Medicine, Eugene Symphony, and Delta Rotary Club.
The Lane Community College Foundation is proud to recognize Nancy Kinnard as a 2010 Distinguished Alumni.
