Dr. John Holtzapple cares for patients and community
Dr. John Holtzapple began his remarkable career in health care by earning an associate's degree in nursing at Lane Community College in 1983. Now, as a longtime family medical physician with PeaceHealth Medical Group, he is well known for his respectful and compassionate dedication to patients.
Dr. Holtzapple also dedicates himself to community. He volunteers with many local organizations including White Bird Clinic, the Latino Medical Access Coalition, and the Lane County Medical Society, to name a few.
"My life history pivots around LCC," says Dr. Holtzapple. "I closed a lot of doors during the years after I graduated from high school in 1975. Looking back now, decades later, I'm startled to see how narrow my options had grown. That changed in 1981. Lane accepted me into the nursing program. Doors opened. People offered help. I discovered talents, interests and opportunities I had not known existed."
The doctor prescribes an education at Lane for anyone who aspires to a rewarding life and career.
The Lane Community College Foundation is proud to recognize Dr. John Holtzapple as a Distinguished Alumni.
