Sue Thompson, professional fitness training instructor
Even after 35 years of teaching, Professional Fitness Training program instructor and Cooperative Education coordinator Sue Thompson still loves her work with a passion.
"The reward for me is to see students not only survive, but thrive," she says.
Thompson earned her bachelor's and master's degrees from California State University, Los Angeles. She received an associate of arts degree from Los Angeles City College, an experience that clearly had positive influence in her life, she says.
There aren't many fitness-related classes Thompson hasn't taught from archery, badminton, softball and strength training for women, to techniques of leadership. At one point, she was the women's basketball coach. "For me, coaching and teaching are extensions of each other," Thompson says.
"I think Daron Parmenter is one of many Lane successes and that's exciting to me," Thompson says. "The fitness field is one of the fastest growing in the health and wellness industry."
