Stanton R. Swank started teaching at Lane in 1990. He earned his BS in Biology (1987) from Cal Poly San Luis Obispo, his MS in Biology (1990) and his Ph.D. in Educational Policy and Management (1996) from the University of Oregon. The courses he teaches are the Anatomy and Physiology sequence (BI 231-233), and Human Biology (BI 102I). These courses have been taught traditionally, hybrid, and online, over the years at Lane.
Although Stan’s main focus is teaching and curriculum development, he also has been actively researching and applying information about online learning, new trends in medicine, and pet-assisted therapy.
In his time away from campus, he enjoys raising 3 children with his wife here in Eugene. He has been active in coaching Kidsports and YMCA sports, and enjoys fishing, camping, Ducks sports, and muscle cars.
