UNIFYING PRINCIPLES & VISION 

1988 Mission Statement
Lane Community College is a comprehensive community college whose mission is to provide accessible, high quality, affordable, lifelong education through:
  • Vocational/career preparation and retraining,
  • Skill upgrading,
  • Lower division transfer programs,
  • Personal development and enrichment, and
  • Cultural and community services.
    1988 Philosophy

    Lane Community College Strives to be a dynamic, forward-looking organization focusing on the needs of individuals as they grow, learn, and adapt throughout their lifetimes to the changing demands of occupational competence, responsible citizenship, and personal living. To accomplish this goal, the college pledges to use its creative energy and resources to offer quality educational opportunities and learning experiences that recognize individual worth and lead to the successful realization of each student's potential. Lane is committed to being responsive to and leading in the quest for educational excellence and serving as an active partner with other public and private agencies in our community. The college recognizes the critical interdependency of local, state, national, and international issues and their impact on the lives of local constituents. The college values harmonious and creative collaboration among individuals and groups. Above all, the college seeks to create a positive, open participatory environment for learning and working and to maintain the highest integrity in relationships with college personnel, students, and community members.
