Students First! Implementation Planning Team Responsibilities
1. Thoroughly study Students First! Redesign Team's recommendations in order to fully understand the proposals by reviewing the written report and holding discussions as needed, with team members, affected staff, employee representatives, and related implementation support units at the college (e.g. computer services).
2. Identify the implications of the recommendations in terms of:
a) Resource Requirements (e.g., human, financial, technology).
b) Changes in human resource practices (e.g., job descriptions, compensation methods and levels, supervisor responsibilities, performance evaluations, employee re-deployment).
c) Labor Contracts (e.g., duties, classifications, working conditions, pay system and levels, evaluations, staff rights).
d) Staff Training (e.g., technical and non-technical).
e) Technical Support
f) Service Impact
g) Staffing Impact
h) External Support
i) Other
3. Assess feasibility in light of implications, budget projections and contingencies, benefits, risks, input from parallel discussions with department managers, staff, labor leaders, etc.
4. Develop implementation plan including staging, funding, labor contract issues, etc.
5. Present conclusions and Implementation Plan to Process Redesign Leadership Team and receive input.
6. Present conclusions and Implementation Plan to Executive Leadership Team for approval, funding, and sponsorship.
7. Inform Board of approved Implementation Plan.
8. Recommend subgroups to execute key components of implementation.
9. Serve as steering group to oversee implementation (including monitoring progress, troubleshooting, assisting with communications to departments and campus, etc.). |
