Profile: Melissa joined Lane Community College in 2004, where she teaches Audio Engineering (Beginning, Intermediate and Advanced Levels). Her background falls in the electronic music genre and her electronic and acoustic works have been performed locally in Eugene, nationally at conferences and internationally. Her most noted international programming was in 2002 where her soundscape Voices was apart of the Fifth Totally Huge New Music Festival in Perth, Western Australia.

Melissa's achievements in music include ongoing performances at conferences, theater and sonic galleries. She became a Regional Composition Finalist in the SCI/ASCAP National Composition Competition 1999 with After Dark for solo viola. In 2000 she received a commission from the DeMarcus Brown Theatre at the University of the Pacific to compose music for Carlos Manual's play, Henny Penny for small ensemble, which had performances in July 2000 and January 2001.

Melissa's academic career began in Sacramento, California where she received her Associate of Arts, with Honors at Sacramento City College, then a a Bachelor of Music, Magnum Cum Laude, in Composition at the University of the Pacific, Conservatory of Music in Stockton, California, and finally, a Master of Music in Intermedia Music Technology at the University of Oregon in Eugene, Oregon.

Melissa continues to work within her community and nationally in dance, theater, animation, gallery installations and film.
