In Writing, information literacy is addressed through the following outcome:  "Upon completing the AAOT General Education Writing sequence, a student should be able to [. . .] locate, evaluate, and ethically utilize information to communicate effectively and demonstrate appropriate reasoning in response to complex issues."

 

In Social Sciences, information literacy is addressed in the course criteria:  "A course in social sciences should be broad in scope. Courses may focus on specialized subjects; however, there must be substantial course content locating the subject in the broader context of the discipline. Approved courses will provide [among other things]: [. . .] Information literacy in the discipline (the ability to critically analyze, synthesize and evaluate various forms of information)."

In Math/CIT/Science, information literacy is implied in one of the stated outcomes: "As a result of taking General Education Science, Computer Science, Math courses, a student should be able to: [ . . .] Gather, comprehend, and communicate scientific and technical information to generate new ideas, solutions, models and further questions confidently, creatively, and joyfully."
