arrowCourse reserves are protected under the Fair Use provisions of copyright law. Photocopies and electronic files of copyrighted materials may be kept on reserve for one term only. If longer time is required, permission must be granted from the copyright owner.
arrowAt the end of the reserve period, all personally owned items must be picked up by the instructor. Library owned materials will be returned to the shelves.

About Electronic Reserves
Place an electronic reserve the same way you place a traditional reserve, by filling out a reserve form.

  1. Your electronic reserve may be in paper or in electronic format.
  2. Your paper format may be any clear typed or typeset document; the quality of the result will depend on the quality of the original. A fuzzy photocopy will be a fuzzy electronic reserve.
  3. Generally, an electronic submission will give much clearer results than a paper copy. You can submit a reserve in electronic format in any of these formats:
  4. Maximum size for any one document is 1 MB (approximately 10 pages). If the size exceeds 1 MB or 10 pages, the library may split the file into two parts. Generally, the Library does not scan more than 20 sheets for each electronic reserve.
  5. We will process your document, attach it to a record on the library's online catalog, and notify you when it's ready.
  6. A link to any electronic reserve can be inserted into any faculty webpage. This will take students directly to the electronic reserve. Contact us for assistance.
