Course Description for CG100 in Fast Lane to Success                         

College Success: On Course helps you learn a number of proven strategies for creating greater academic, professional and personal success.  You will discover how to create a rich, fulfilling life by developing new beliefs and behaviors.  College Success: On Course empowers you to make wise choices in your academic and personal life which leads to improved experiences and outcomes.   

Course Objectives                            

By the end of the course, you will learn how to:

  • Take charge of your life by taking greater personal responsibility to gain more control over the outcomes that you create in college and in life.
  • Increase self-motivation by discovering your own meaningful goals and dreams.
  • Improve personal self-management by learning strategies for taking control of time and energy to move more efficiently towards the accomplishment of your goals.
  • Develop interdependence through mutually supportive relationships.
  • Increase self-awareness by recognizing self-defeating patterns and limiting beliefs.
  • Maximize your learning by understanding and utilizing various learning styles.
  • Develop emotional intelligence by learning effective strategies for managing your emotional life, decreasing stress, and increasing your sense of well-being.
  • Raise your self-esteem by developing self-acceptance, self-confidence, and self-respect.
  • Improve creative and critical thinking skills for analyzing and solving problems.
