Developing Ethical Business Leadership Skills
through Critical Reading and Writing

Join us winter term 2012 for a learning community of Introduction to Business (BA 101) and Introduction to Academic Writing (WR 121).

HOW TO REGISTER:

Choose these two classes and enter the CRNs on the same myLane screen:

CRN:  32833 Introduction to Business BA 101 Tues/Thurs 12-1:50pm        

CRN:  31526 Introduction to Academic Writing WR 121 Tues/Thurs 2-3:50pm  

Each class fulfills the requirements of a stand-alone business or writing class.  In both classes, we will explore some of the following questions through reading, writing and discussion:            

  • Who are leaders and why?
  • What is ethical leadership?
  • What is the role of ethics in our professional lives?
  • How does ethical business leadership shape and influence our society?
  • How are different communication styles effective in various contexts?
  • Who is ultimately responsible for ethics, social responsibility, corporate citizenship, and community?
  • What are some methods to transform opinions using knowledge and understanding to arrive at sound decisions?
  • How do we recognize and address ethical issues?
