SCT Changes
James Brunner started his new position at SCT. He plans to attend LIMT Steering Committee meetings and will develop a schedule with modules as needed.
HR Update
This will be the last LIMT meeting Linda Simmons will attend. Meetings with the faculty union resulted in faculty agreeing to enter their leave time via ExpressLane. A backup plan will be developed to handle exceptions. All faculty must attend the ExpressLane training. The team is working on how Banner can be enhanced to calculate classified seniority and assess faculty union dues. Dennis Carr, the new Executive Director for Human Resources will be on campus Wednesday and Friday this week and will start full-time on January 2, 2003. Human Resources and Student will have a joint training to discuss the faculty assignment and tracking capabilities in Banner, possibly in January.
Financial Aid Update
The team has successfully tested letter generation. It is possible to personalize letters by creating individual data that needs to be included in the letters by extracting the data and the individual into a Word document.
Student Update
Data conversion is going well. The team thanked BWEL staff for its assistance in verifying their non-credit data. BWEL will identify data that needs to be transcripted over. The team is discussing the college’s testing policy, which currently requires placement testing for students enrolling in more than 5 credits in their first term at Lane. The team is working with BWEL on the catalog.
Finance Update
Finance is working to bring balances forward from last year into this year’s budget. Position budgets are updated and are being loaded and ICP is ready to go. Work is being done with Computer Services to identify a spreadsheet to use for the budget document. Managers and Administrative Assistants will be notified when the budget is complete and a refresher training schedule will be developed. The Bookstore is working with Missouri Bookstore on interface programs for both A/P and student A/R in Banner.
Series 25 Update
The Space Implementation Team (SPIT) continues working this week to inventory main campus spaces. Spaces need to be available by mid-January in order to build the class schedule in February or early March. Craig Taylor will let LIMT know if Series 25 training for the trainers will be needed.
Business Workforce and Extended Learning Update
Banner and Beyond plans to finish gathering reporting data from departments by mid-January.
Instructional Managers
Chuck Appleby reports weekly to Instructional Managers about the LASR Project and will bring concerns from that group to LIMT meetings.
Additional Consulting Time
James Brunner developed a tentative allocation for additional consulting time for modules. Team leaders will give Linda DeWitt a plan of how they will use the hours.
Data Standards
The Recruiting Office is entering employee data and needs a current version of the Data Standards document. Linda DeWitt will send them a copy of the document.
SCT Finance Consultant on Campus
A Finance consultant will be on campus the first or second week of February. Team leaders were asked to notify Linda DeWitt of their needs. Time will be needed with the consultant for reporting support.
SCT Summit, 2003
SCT Summit 2003 is March 9-12, 2003. Those attending are Stephen Pruch, Darlene Baker, Helen Garrett, Chris McDowell, Stan Barker, one additional Finance Team member, Dennis Carr, one additional HR Team member, Linda DeWitt, a representative from Banner & Beyond and the Financial Aid Director if the position is filled.
