LIMT Meeting Minutes
Monday November 24, 2003
Updates
- Finance is receiving requests for training on Banner Finance. This was also a topic at a recent ISSM meeting. Finance has designated training responsibility to Alan Feldmayer, Tasha Drake and Paula Gardner. They are looking at getting some training in place for mid-December. Instructional computing labs will be down over the break while servers are moved, but a CIT lab may be available. LIMT suggested that Finance consider using the December time to gather information about training needs from finance users, and then using this information to build more in-depth training to follow. Stan will take the lead on getting this moving.
CS Issues
- Down over past weekend
- Computer Services took Banner down for a short time over the past weekend to address problems with job sub. Student reports that there are still problems with parts of the system this morning.
- Thanksgiving weekend upgrades
- Over the Thanksgiving weekend, Computer Services will install all upgrades into the production database and then clone a new TEST instance. Each module leader should notify Jan if there are upgrades or patches now in TEST that should not be applied to the production instance. Jan needs this information by end of business today, Monday, November 24.

- Student
- The SCT had an excellent consulting visit last week and worked through several issues related to academic history and transcripts.
- CAPP, the SCT Banner academic program evaluating functionality, is up and running at Lane. This is a major accomplishment compared to the experience other Banner schools have had. Staff plan to begin sending output from this program to students next week.
- The Counseling Department has decided to move permanently from “Annual” to “Advance” registration for students who complete academic advising. In general, Advance Registration will begin in week three of one term for the next term. The groups planning this schedule should avoid having any registration process begin on an HR deadline.
