LIMT Meeting Minutes

Monday, November 4, 2002

Human Resources Training
ExpressLane for Employees and Web Approval training is going well.  ExpressLane for Employees trained the 500th person at 11:10a on Friday, November 1.

SCT changes
James announced he has accepted a promotion as SCT account manager for Canada and Oregon.  Remaining project and account management hours were combined and redistributed to provide 24 additional consulting weeks to be distributed between core teams.  James will continue to provide on-site project management services one week per month until the end of the project.

Integrated Information System Principles
Stephen distributed a draft set of principles that underlie the system LCC is developing and asked LIMT to review the document for discussion at the November 18 meeting.

ExpressLane logo signs
LIMT discussed developing a plan to roll out ExpressLane.  Following are observations that came out of the discussion:

  • Feedback about sign locations should be solicited
  • Signs should be placed over kiosks, in the class schedule and on the Web page
  • Staff needs access before students
  • Students should receive information in March, 2003
  • Financial Aid letters mailed to students will talk about ExpressLan

Linda DeWitt will talk to Manager’s Forum in November and Financial Aid and Student Core Teams will begin discussing a plan.  The issue will be readdressed at the November 18 LIMT meeting.

Plan for accessing transactional information from COCO
Programmers worked with SCTstudent technical consultant, Joozer Najmi, last week on a plan for converting all general person data.  Programmers will start working next week to move data into an Oracle environment by February.  The most accurate data should be in COCO before the conversion.  This means departments that use shadow databases should move their data into COCO before the conversion.  Manager’s Forum and Peer to Peer will be notified of the conversion plans.  It was noted that LIMT must provide the tools to help people move shadow databases into Banner.

Series 25 Update
Ron Rourke, Alen Bahret, Susan Tatar and Amy Bennett are in Portland this week for Series 25 training.  With training completed, implementation of Schedule/Resource 25 can begin.  SAG anticipates coordinating efforts with the LCC space committee.

Student Update
The team is working under an aggressive timeline in preparation for the “go live” date in June.  Class sections will be built in PPRD in March; Touchnet contracts have been initiated; A/R testing is being done and student testing will be on line.

HR Update
HR talked with faculty union representatives about employees submitting a leave record whether or not leave is taken.  Employee pay will not be suppressed if a leave record is not submitted.  Linda Simmons will communicate with Jim Salt regarding the issue.  Memorandums of Understanding are being initiated and how Banner calculates seniority and union dues are being discussed.  The recruitment and hiring process now reports to Jose Ortel.  Jose will report to the Executive Director of HR.  Linda will update LIMT if an offer is on the table for an HR Director.  A message will be sent to staff about participation in the HR payroll test and what needs to be done.

Reporting Strategy Group Charter
The draft charter was sent to Georgia for distribution to LIMTand will be discussed at the next LIMT meeting.  Jennifer Knight is taking a leave of absence; Laura Loftus will fill in as chair of the RSG.
