Updates/Announcements
PPRD was cloned to TEST last Thursday evening without any problems. TEST is working fine and ready to go with clean data.LIMT presented a framed copy of the first grant report created using Banner data to Kay Malmberg for the Finance Core Team.
Series 25 Update
The Series 25 Advisory Group will meet early next week to identify principles and guidelines and to determine the need for an advisory group for the event scheduling side of Series 25.
Student Update
Access to PPRD is limited to Student, Financial Aid, Human Resources and programmers. The Student team will have developed a plan by October 1 to convert credit and BWEL student academic history. The core team meets on Thursday to refine the proposal for a meeting with BWEL. Following the conversion, data will have to be maintained in two places. The team continues to work on policy issues.A recommendation was made to run weekly updates about the LASR project in the Daily. The content for the updates will be extracted from the LIMT minutes. The LASR Project Office will be responsible for coordinating the updates.
HR Update
Position encumbrance will begin in the 2003-2004 fiscal year. Encumbrance for the six months of payroll information from January through June of 2003 would not make sense, because it would only reflect six months of the fiscal year. Lag payroll implementation will proceed as stated in an email sent to all LCC employees last week from Linda Simmons. Human Resources needs a decision soon on whether faculty will participate. If not, HR will need to develop a complete second payroll process in Banner. Stephen Pruch will bring the issue to the attention of ET members at the ET meeting today. Over 1,000 positions were loaded during training last week. The team is working to determine the best way to load position budget. The team will discuss the position budget issue the Finance and Human Resources trainers.
Financial Aid Update
Validation tables and system set-up tables were loaded into PPRD last week in preparation for the cloning. The team is in the process of loading student records into TEST in preparation for training on Tuesday. Training will focus on Fund Management, Packaging and Disbursement.
BWEL Update
The meeting has not been scheduled. The agenda item will be addressed at the next LIMT meeting
Finance Update
A base budget was successfully loaded into TEST following the clone. Accurate budgets should be ready in TEST by October 1. ExpressLane can meet most of the needs of departments for financial information. Some additional reports may need to be developed to support college informational needs.
Other
The Web Sub-committee identified a need for consistency when referring to ExpressLane and creating pin numbers. The committee recommends that ExpressLane be consistently written as one word with a capital E and L. Pin numbers will be alpha/numeric. LIMT concurred with the recommendation. |
