LIMT Meeting Minutes

Monday  September 22, 2003

Updates

  • Datamart status
    • The contract for the SCT Datamart purchase was signed and faxed last Friday.  The P.O. is moving through the approval process.  The next step is to discuss the implementation strategy and timeline with SCT.
  • Luminis status
    • ET is currently reviewing a draft charter of a group to make a recommendation about the Luminis purchase.  A telephone discussion is scheduled with SCT today regarding demos for the campus and the decision team.
  • Steering Committee Update
    • The LASR Steering Committee has completed its work and received a thank you acknowledgement from the Executive Team. This is a part of the transition for LASR from project implementation to operational reality.
    • The next agenda will include a discussion of the name, function and future membership for LIMT.
CS Issues
  • While the system was down last Wednesday for the required recalculation of GPAs, the DBA installed the latest R25 upgrades. The GPA recalculations were a one-time fix because the number of decimals in the Banner calculation increased from 2 to 3 in the upgrade from 5.x to 6.x.
  • LIMT approved the DBA’s request for down time on November 11 for Oracle maintenance.
  • LIMT approved a request from the leader of the Student Core Team to load staff in the Financial Aid Office and the Registrar’s Office at U of O as advisors in order to facilitate the dual enrollment process between the two institutions.
  • The Training Coordinator position was posted on campus last week and closed on Friday.  If the on-campus applicant pool is not adequate, it will be posted off campus soon.
Issues
  • ExpressLane PINS to Instructional Computing?
    • LIMT approved as a “pilot” a request from Instructional Computing to include a download of “L” numbers and PINS for registered students to the Instructional Computing network.  This will allow students to use the same login names and PINS for instructional labs and ExpressLane.  LIMT granted the request after extended discussion of the need for confidentiality regarding PINS, the security of the instructional network and assurance that the PIN information would not be available to Instructional Computing staff.  Eric and Alen will report back to LIMT on October 6 regarding final data security and confidentiality measures.
  • Consulting hours decision
    • LIMT approved a request to divert up to 72 consulting hours (two full weeks) from the pool reserved for Workflow to support the additional consulting needs of HR.
  • LANE to TEST Clone?
    • LIMT approved a 4:00 to 6:00 a.m. downtime for a clone of LANE to PPRD and TEST on one of the following dates:

    • October 1, 2, 13, 14, 16 or 17.  Strong preference is for either October 1 or 2.  LIMT noted that the HR time entry deadline for the first pay period in October will be midnight on October 14, because Advance registration for Winter Term begins at 4:00 a.m. on October 15.  Jan will let LIMT and the programming staff know the exact date.
Other
LIMT will not meet on September 29, the first day of Fall Term.  Next meeting is October 6.
