LIMT Meeting Minutes
Monday, July 1, 2002
Parking spaces for off-campus employees:
LIMT’s request for four reserved parking spaces has been approved. Because of the over-utilized parking area, people traveling to campus for meetings spend an inordinate amount of time looking for a parking space. The reserved spaces will alleviate this problem.
Finance Update:
As scheduled, Finance went live today, Monday, July 1. Checks were printed and sent to the bank for testing. Administrative Assistants processed and printed purchase orders for the new fiscal year using Native Banner the week of June 24. Lee Hallin set up user’s printers so Administrative Assistants could log in at their work stations and print. LIMT recommends that staff read the Purchasing Bulletins that Lloyd Rain is sending out; they contain useful information. The current fiscal year-end closing will be under COCO. A schedule for loading the approved budget into Banner will be forthcoming.
Training:
Open labs were offered the Week of June 24 to help staff work through the purchase order process.
HR Update
The HR office will be closed between 8a and 10a to allow staff to work exclusively on Banner. Discussions need to be scheduled about loading LADD, check printing and a 12-month plan for committed vs encumbered personnel funds. HR meets next week with the faculty union regarding the lag-pay issue. Staff training is scheduled during the first two weeks of September and will continue through October. Ron Rourke will help with the Web training for employees and Sue Woods will be available to train the trainers. The long-range plan is to hire a full-time technical trainer.
LIMT discussed whether to cancel the ELAG meeting scheduled for tomorrow. The ELAG group has several issues and neither Helen Garrett nor Jane Scheidecker will be at the meeting. A decision was made to proceed with the meeting so people can voice their issues. James Brunner will attend the meeting. The team is becoming more and more comfortable with the system.
Student Update
The team is ready to move into the catalog implementation.
Financial Aid Update
The Financial Aid team were in training last week working on population selections. After the November training, SCT trainer, Melissa Thompson, plans to support Lane via remote access as necessary. Linda DeWitt is comfortable with the remote access plan and feels the team may not need as much time as originally scheduled. SCT will identify a backup Financial Aid consultant if on-site support is required. The Financial Aid Director position has not yet been filled. SCT has identified the lack of a Financial Aid Director as a potential project jeopardy.
