LASR Update Schedule Change
LASR Project Updates as a form of campus communication about the project will
terminate after the May 16 meeting. LIMT is discussing more productive
ways to communicate with the campus.
Steering Committee Meeting Schedule
A new Steering Committee meeting schedule will be developed prior to the end
of Spring term. The last meeting for this academic year is
May 23.
Report From April 4 Steering Committee Meeting
The Steering Committee met on April 4. Agenda items included an ExpressLane
for Students demonstration that focused on registration and Financial Aid services
and implementation of the Schedule 25 software. The Committee expressed
delight with the ExpressLane demo.
SCT/Action Web Resource Demo
The April 14 LIMT meeting will be held in Bldg. 16, room 144 at 9:30a. A
demonstration of the resources available on the SCT/Action Web pages will be
presented. Programmers and core team technical people are invited to
the meeting.
Phase 2 Projects
LIMT will identify a list of projects to work on after all systems are transactionally
live. The list will be provided to the Steering Committee and agreements
will be aligned with the direction of the college before Summer term. Suggestions
include:
- Consider products included as ìoptionalî in the
original contract
- Campus Pipeline (portal)
- Web CT
- Workflow
- Consider additional products we've learned about:
- Data warehouse
- Missouri Bookstore Interface
- Document Imaging
- Evaluate and replace interface programs, as needed
- Consider things thrown out of the boat
Stephen Pruch will compile a list of products that were in the RFP, but
have not been purchased.
Computer Services & LIMT Coordinate Clone Dates,
Banner Upgrades & Lane Downtime
The
following Banner upgrade and clone date schedule was developed :
- June 8 Clone LANE to PPRD/TEST
- June 11-13 TEST/PPRD users will test
- By end of June TEST/PPRD users will check the 12
most common forms
- July 5-6 Oracle 9i & Banner 6.0 into LANE
- August 23 & 24 Banner 6.0 into LANE
- July 5-August 23 Jan Kleminsky will notify teams
what users need to do
Four to six hours downtime per week in LANE is required to complete the
upgrades. Jan will let LIMT know the exact number of hours needed. Core
teams will notify departments of major changes following the upgrades. A
suggestion was made to implement a Groupwise calendar for the upgrade process
with proxy rights for the entire campus. The Project office will
follow up on the suggestion.
Other Ways to Communicate Project Highlights to Campus
Item moved to a future agenda.
Identifying PT Faculty in Student System
There is a timing issue regarding identifying part-time instructors in
the Student system so that they can be assigned to sections much earlier
than the information is needed in the HR/payroll system. These assignments
need to be done as much as possible before the scheduling and class
schedule processes. E-mail addresses for these individuals are also
needed to support their use of R25. Craig Taylor, Jane Scheidecker, Chuck Appleby, and representatives
from Human Resources, Student and (possibly) Resource 25 teams will form a
LIMT sub-team to work on the issue.
Schedule 25 Tool Assigns Summer Term
Classrooms
Schedule 25 assigned Summer term classrooms and the schedule was distributed
to the Peer to Peer group along with a list of people to contact if anyone
has questions. The implementation team requested feedback from schedule
builders by 5p Thursday.
Instructional Managers
No report.
Financial Aid Update
ExpressLane training for campus employees was successful. Additional
training on how to accept awards and access loan sites will be offered in late
May after the award process is completed. Students are successfully using
ExpressLane to access Financial Aid services.
Student Module Week
A clone of PPRD to TEST is scheduled for this weekend, the Testing
Office goes live next week, mock registration #2 is scheduled for next
week, and Student Module 1 training sessions continue. The team is in good shape.
Human
Resources Part-time Faculty Payroll
Spring term part-time faculty will receive their pay in six payments
beginning on April 25 with the final payment on May 10. A recommendation was made
to provide this information to the Board of Education in advance of the Board
meeting.
BWEL and Student Core Team Work Together Closely
BWEL reminded LIMT that the Student Core Team needs to continue to work
closely with BWEL on the Student Module implementation.
Finance Update
No report.
Action Items
Form LIMT sub-team to address identification of part-time faculty as instructors
