LIMT Visits Faculty Council
LIMT members will attend the Faculty Council meeting on Friday to discuss
Series 25, changes to the refund and administrative withdrawal policy and faculty
Banner training. Faculty would also like to discuss plans for involving
faculty in Banner changes when modules are live. Faculty Council also
requested LIMT's thoughts about Web CT and other course management tools. However,
LIMT concluded that faculty are in the best position to evaluate and make recommendations
regarding course management tools.
ExpressLane Signs and Buttons for Campus
The Project Office is making ExpressLane signs available to departments to
identify areas where students can use computers to access ExpressLane. An
announcement was placed in the Daily asking anyone who wants signs to contact
the LASR Project Office. A list of requests was distributed. If
anyone is aware of other areas let Georgia know. Jane Scheidecker
will coordinate feedback for the DTC areas. The Student Core Team suggested
some time ago that ExpressLane buttons be made for staff to help promote
ExpressLane. LIMT felt the buttons were unnecessary. The suggestion
will be referred back to the Student Team.
Banner Report Capabilities
Banner users need more information at different levels for financial and personnel
reports from Banner. Teams should talk with their programmers and
consultants to identify reports that are available in Banner. In
the interim, team leaders can work with programmers to develop spreadsheets
that provide needed financial and personnel information not available in
Banner reports. FIT will form work groups at their Tuesday meeting
to identify report requirements that are needed by instructional departments,
BWEL, Finance and HR and prioritize a list of immediate needs. Other
groups may contact Kay Malmberg or Stan Barker if they have needs. The
LASR Project is dedicated to providing as much help as needed to Banner
users, and Linda Osak is available to make ìhouse callsî and work with
individuals on their informational needs.
Campus reaction to HR go live
Human Resources asked LIMT to refer any questions/concerns about the HR implementation
to ext. 5211 in the HR office. Leave balance errors have been corrected.
Financial Aid Team on Track
The team and the implementation are doing fine.
Class Section Building
Three hundred Summer term, 2003 credit sections have been built in PPRD for
the Series 25 test environment. Team representatives met with Peer
to Peer and are working closely with Departments to help relieve the anxiety
around the schedule process. Between now and the end of March updated
information will go into TEST in preparation for the March 17 mock registration. The
team will also build a smaller number of non-credit sections. May
is the target date for section building training for staff. Clone
dates are scheduled for February 22 and March 16. If departments
can provide better section data, it will be entered before the clones. Preferred
room assignments can be emailed to Margaret Kimble. March 29 is the
final date that Summer schedule revisions can get into the printed schedule,
so Margaret will need the data by March 24. The academic schedule
on the Web is incorrect; student registration begins June 2.
Series 25 Update
The Series 25 group had a good session with Peer to Peer. Pre-training
will be offered for schedule builders and perhaps follow-up sessions for groups/units. Resource
25 is being populated with space information. The group is helping people
learn how they will be assigning space.
Banner and Beyond Work
BWEL views budget reporting as a critical path that is separate from the work
of Banner and Beyond. Jane Scheidecker will meet with Chuck
Appleby about reporting needs before the FIT meeting next Tuesday.
LASR Update Topics
The February 21 LASR Update agenda will include an ExpressLane demonstration. Teams
will send additional agenda items to Georgia.
