LIMT Meeting Minutes

Monday, January 13, 2003

Technology Budgets
Results from a Campus Computing survey about technology budgets and eCommerce progress was distributed.  Stephen Pruch completes the annual survey for the college.  The full report is available in Stephen’s office.

J Initiator Upgrade
The Student Core Team raised a question about installing J initiators.  J initiator is used only with native Banner and will download automatically when the user logs on.  Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs) on the Banner page addresses the download process.  The first step in staff training should address this issue and instruct users to access Banner through Internet Explorer.  It was noted that the download does not work for MACs, but a patch will be provided from SCT.

Budget Report
The budget is in excellent shape with two more years to go on the project.  The majority of major purchases have been made.

Human Resources Update
Human Resources has gone live (applause).  The team met with the Data Standards group about the name issue.  Every employee and student will be entered with a legal name type in the name field and Human Resources will enter an alternate name that will be an HR name type.  Human Resources will not open the Web for time entry until the 5th day of each pay period to allow their office to update data.  An “L” number lookup box  will be added to the  ExpressLane login page after the first complete payroll has run and the Help Desk referral will be deleted.

LASR Update Topics for Jan. 17
Discussion topics will include updates from Student, Finance, Financial Aid, Human Resources, and Series 25.  Dates for discontinuing Classline and Gradeline will be announced.

ExpressLane Logo Change
The Marketing & Public Relations office recommends the ExpressLane Logo be altered.  The alterations make the logo easier to read and ties it more closely to the LCC logo.  LIMT approved the changes.

Classline/Gradeline Voice Response Elimination
The Student Core Team recommended to LIMT that Classline voice response be discontinued on May 24, 2003 and Gradeline be discontinued on July 1, 2003.  These dates will be announced at the LASR Update on Friday and in the Daily.  Jane Scheidecker will take the recommendation to BWEL and Chuck Appleby will inform the Instructional Managers.  If there are  concerns about the date, contact Stephen Pruch.

Additional information will be provided to LIMT in the next couple of weeks.  The team is on track.
