Report to the Lane Community College Board
LASR Project
October 1 , 2001

The college is beginning Phase II of the Lane Administrative System Renewal (LASR) Project.  Phase II is a two-year implementation process for the SCT Banner administrative software system. Linda DeWitt is serving as Lane's LASR Project Director, and James Brunner is the SCT Project Manager for the project.

TIMELINE
The college is taking a phased approach to implementation.  The Banner software is conceptually divided into four modules, and the ėgo liveî or operational dates for each module are based on the natural business cycle for each area.  The chart below shows beginning dates and ėgo liveî dates for each module.

HARDWARE, SOFTWARE
The HP9000 is installed and operational.  Installation of the Oracle database and the Banner software is complete. Banner forms are accessible through a client/server process and also using a web interface.  We will eventually have Lane staff using each of these access modes.

Regular informational LASR Updates are scheduled from 3:00 to 5:00 on the first Friday of each month.  Meetings will be held in the Boardroom.  All members of the Lane community are invited to attend.  The purpose of these monthly meetings is to provide the campus community with information about the project, a progress update and an opportunity to ask questions.
