Ubuntu - Inspired Projects: Monday, September 17, 2007

  All participants will meet at Bristow Square at 10:15 a.m.; all projects will end by 12:45 p.m.

1. Weeding the West Entrance - Dan Conklin
   
   • Number of volunteers needed: 6.
     
     
2. Paper Recycling - Jennifer Hayward & Bob Walen
   
   • Remove and recycle all old paperwork, posting, signs, etc. from office and general common areas. Place paper in recycle bins around the campus.
   • Number of volunteers needed: at least 4.
     
     
3. Sustainable Space Heater Exchange/Foot Warmer Pads - Anna Scott
   
   • 35 flat screen energy efficient heaters available at no cost to requestor.
   • Bring your old unit heaters, agree to take them home if personal heaters, exchange them if they are LCC property.
   • 10 foot warmer heater pads available at no cost to requestor.
   • All heaters and foot warmer pads are available at a first come first serve basis.
   • Number of volunteers needed: 2.
     
     
4. Bright Spots Planting-Frank Drengacz
   
   • Plant flowers in designated "spots" around the main campus.
   • Number of volunteers needed: 4.
     
     
5. Spread Compost in the Labyrinth Garden Area - Craig Marsh
   
   • Number of volunteers needed: 4.
     
     
6. Motorpool Wash & Wax w/Interior Vacuuming - Bob Dyck & Jake Kolansinski
   
   • Number of volunteers needed: 15.
     
     
7. Trash Pick-Up - Jennie Lyn
   
   • Conduct a building-by-building sweep, picking up trash along the sidewalks and common areas.
   • Number of volunteers needed: 4.
     
     
8. Cafeteria Table Adjustment & Chair Repair - Shelly Turner
   
   • Tools will be provided
   • Number of volunteers needed: 4.
     
     
9. Curb & Parking Lot Paint Striping - Terry Star
   
   • Number of volunteers needed: 4.
     
     
10. Learning Garden Planting - Jane Ashley
    
    • Weed, plant fall crops, etc.
    • Number of volunteers needed: 4.
      
      
11. Learning Trail Maintenance - Joe Russin (canceled)
    
    • Spread bark.
