Welcome to Fall In-service 2007
Professional Development Activities
- Beyond MySpace & YouTube - Don Macnaughtan and Linda Grenz
Thursday, September 20 (2:00 p.m. - 4:00 p.m.) and
Friday, September 21 (10:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m.)
An easy-and-fun, hands-on introduction to some lesser-known Web 2.0 applications.
This short, practical workshop will introduce you to a few of the many Web 2.0 services that have spring up in the past 2-3 years. The basic idea is that Web 2.0 uses the web to connect people rather than connecting documents. Well-known examples include Facebook, YouTube, blogs, and wikis such as Wikipedia. We have chosen applications that are easy to understand and which you can immediately apply to both your professional and personal lives. We will cover:
- Delicious - organize and publish your bookmarks and online information
- Flickr and Picasa - organize and publish your photographs
- LibraryThing - organize and publish your personal or professional libraries
Space is limited. Please e-mail Don Macnaughtan or call 463-5359 to reserve a place for the Thursday or Friday session.
Suitable for all Lane staff at all levels of comfort with technology.
