Audiovisual Specialist #4020 General Characteristics: Examples of Work: Coordinate and oversee the equipment lockers, and multi-media projectors in all classrooms and labs. Provide technical instruction on the proper operation and use of audiovisual equipment on a one-to-one or one-to-may basis. Perform preventive maintenance and needed repairs on audiovisual equipment. Repairs may be shifted to the staff of Electronic Services when such repairs are beyond the time constraints, skills, and scope of this position. Supervise the circulation of audiovisual equipment and materials by part-time personnel and work-study students. Handle all scheduling of equipment and material orders received from faculty, staff, and students via telephone, written request, email and personal contacts. Coordinate and perform special equipment setups, including public address and multimedia setups, for College activities and special events. Maintain records system of equipment placement, logistics of a continual equipment inventory, and temporary and department loan utilizing database software. Keep records of internal supplies, such as projection lamps; determine supply needs; place orders to maintain stock levels. Process all new audiovisual equipment and materials; establish and maintain inventory tracking records using manual and computerized methods. Conduct ongoing, campus-wide equipment inspections, both visual and operational, to determine whether operational deficiencies exist. Determine new portable equipment and systems requirements for the College. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Ability to: Supervision: This position assigns tasks and priorities, trains and checks the work of assigned staff and work study students, and is available to answer questions or troubleshoot problems on a daily basis.
