Curriculum Development

Curriculum Committee - approves course and program revisions, which the Curriculum Office forwards to the Oregon Department of Community Colleges and Workforce Development prior to listing in Lane's catalog or schedule. The process of local and state approval takes approximately six weeks for a single course, and up to six months for a program.

Courses Meeting General Education Degree Requirements

Each course that fulfills a general education requirement for a degree will be reviewed by the Degree Requirements Review Committee. That committee provides support for faculty completing the application forms to meet degree requirements, and will meet individually with a faculty member proposing a new course prior to the committee's consideration of new proposals.

Funding for Curriculum Development

Funding for curriculum development - After Curriculum Approval Committee approval, faculty may apply for funding through the Unit Planning process. For more information, please contact the Office of and Academic and Student Affairs, at 463-5308.

For help with questions about curriculum development processes, contact Mary Brau (e-mail braum at lanecc.edu or phone 541-463-5580).
