IPPD Projects: Individual Personal and Professional Development Guidelines Fund II
INDIVIDUAL PERSONAL AND PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT Note: These funds are provided by the Classified Professional Development Team, and are not bargained funds. The CPDT and/or its subcommittee award the funds. Requests must show how the funds will benefit the applicant’s personal and professional goals. These funds are intended to benefit the employee’s personal and professional needs rather than the department’s operational needs. In other words, if the conference or workshop is necessary for the employee to do his/her job, it must be funded by the department. WHO IS ELIGIBLE TO RECEIVE FUNDS? Any Lane Community College Contracted Classified salaried employee (.500 to 1.0 FTE) who has completed initial trial service is eligible to receive funding. WHAT CAN THESE FUNDS BE USED FOR? All travel expenses related to the attendance costs associated with conferences and workshops. Expenditures are limited to the maximum grant allowed by CPDT, (up to $350.00 per employee.) Any of these categories when it is judged that the estimated expenditure is either unnecessary or excessive. IPPD II funds cannot be used to pay salary costs. FUNDING AVAILABILITY Available all four terms If the demand for funding exceeds the available resources in any term to fund all the requests submitted, the CPDT and/or its subcommittee may choose to award partial funding to several applicants rather than fully fund a single applicant. When all other factors are equal and a choice has to be made, the committee may give preference to: *Those not previously receiving funding from IPPD I or II. HOW MUCH MONEY CAN ANY INDIVIDUAL EMPLOYEE RECEIVE? Up to $350 per year per person can be granted to any one employee for activities that take place during the year (ending June 30th of the academic year). The CPDT and/or its subcommittee may grant less than this amount to an individual, depending on the availability of funds.
