Front Desk Support Information for Student Workers
Student workers will:
- Project a courteous attitude to our "customers"
- Be familiar with our previous, current, and next term schedule of classes (both our printed schedule and via ExpressLane)
- Be familiar with myLane and locating classes on the web
- Be familiar with the current issue of the Community Education Class Schedule
- Be familiar with Moodle login
- Be familiar with Financial Aid resources
- SHeD (Student Help Desk, x3333)
- Tutoring assistance (at main campus)
- Operate a multi-line telephone, retrieve messages
- Operate fax and copy machine
- Intake student non-credit registration forms
- Check in/out telecourse tapes and DVDs
- Complete FERPA training
- Review and become familiar with the Instructors' Manual for Continuing Education classes
- Know the location of the Employee Emergency Manual and have reviewed it
- Location of building fire extinguishers and AED (Automatic External Defibrillator)
- Location of emergency call button and Stanley Security Servies procedures
- When to call campus security
- Location of First Aid kits (typical included supplies)
- Be familiar with the staff workroom
- Be familiar with the Bookstore
- Be familiar with Lane Transit District LTD bus route 98 (map) and LTD publication
- Be familiar with the Smokefree Workplace law Oregon revised statute 433.845
- Academic Technolgy Center ATC - instructor help
- Be familiar with the Lane Cottage Grove PBWiki
- Advise students
- Accept payments
