HELPFUL INFORMATION FOR CREDIT FACULTY TO BE AWARE OF:

Class lists and Grades: All credit faculty use ExpressLane to print out class lists. Computers are available on campus for faculty to use.

Grading: If your class is offered with a specific grading option (i.e. letter grade, P/NP) please notify front desk staff. General policy concerning grades may be found at: 2011sitearchive.lanecc.edu/cops/gradedef.htm Note: Last day of attendance is MANDATORY for all grades of I or F. Regular attendance records should be maintained by the instructor.
Give a copy of any incomplete contracts to front desk staff.

Faculty will use myLane to enter grades by 5:00 pm of the Tuesday following finals week.

Syllabus: Syllabi are required to be on file for all courses taught. Please be sure to submit your course syllabus by email to front desk staff by the end of the first class. (BEWARE-Lane now accesses a $100.00 per class "late add" fee)

Disabilities Statements: The following statement is to appear on every class syllabus (usually at the end) and may be posted in department offices or classrooms. Font should be 12 point or larger and easy to read.

Administrative Withdrawals for Non-Attendance: Students who do not attend 50% of class sessions during the first week (or first class when meeting times are once per week) will be administratively withdrawn. At the end of the first week of classes please make a copy of your attendance sheet and give to front desk staff.

Office Hours: Instructors will schedule one office hour each week for each class section taught. The hour will be scheduled at a time convenient for the students. The time of the office hour shall be announced to students, and included in the student calendar/syllabus. Please submit schedules for each quarter, including final exam week, to front desk staff. If office space other than the classroom is needed please let front desk staff know prior to the beginning of the term, or as soon as possible in any event.

Note: No food, drinks (except water) or games are allowed in the classrooms at any time. Please stress this at your first class meeting, and reinforce as needed, as failure to observe this requirement may result in loss of classroom access. The Student Lounge is available for students use. 2011sitearchive.lanecc.edu/cops/food.htm

Overhead Projectors/LCD projectors/VCR's/televisions/PC on cart: Please let front desk staff ((541) 463-4202) know one week in advance of any such requirements. TV/VCR/DVD remote controls are available from front desk personnel. Please return remote controls when finished with class.

Reminder: Please be advised that personal computers (staff and student) cannot be connected to the LCC network. WiFi (wireless) access points are available throughout the building. Any current student and staff may access the Internet using their L number and myLane PIN.

Please see front desk staff if you would like your class to use one of our computer labs. All of your students have unlimited use of all LCC computer labs. Front desk personnel also have keys to the computer/VCR/DVD cabinets for rooms 126 and 137.

Moodle: LCC has selected Moodle to assist faculty whether you teach traditional, hybrid, or fully-online courses. Moodle offers numerous options for setting up a class, including discussions, transferring files, testing, announcements, grading, posting syllabi and assignments online, creating links to other web sites, and even setting up web pages and wikis! Training is offered at the main campus.

Library Services: We would like to continue to encourage the use of "Library Connections" with the main campus Library. David Doctor, Faculty Librarian is available to assist faculty and students in a variety of ways. We encourage our faculty to incorporate these services in their learning plans. Please schedule early for classroom visits so as to include visits from "Dr. Dave" in your course syllabus. DoctorD@lanecc.edu
