Procedure: Disabilities: Accessibility Notification for Students/Community
Department: Disability Resources
Contact: Nancy Hart, (541) 463-3010 hartn@lanecc.edu
Purpose: To provide effective methods for communicating information to the college community about Disability Resources, accommodations, and campus or program access.
1. This statement is to appear on every class syllabus and may be posted in department offices or classrooms. Font should be 12 point or larger and easy to read.
If you need support or assistance because of a disability, you may be eligible for academic accommodations through Disability Resources. For more information, contact Disability Resources at (541) 463-5150 (voice) or (541) 463-3079 (TTY), or stop by Building 1, Room 218.
2. This statement is to appear on all major Lane publications or posted information. Font and location should be reasonably accessible for that publication.
This information is available in alternate formats upon request by contacting Disability Resources: (541) 463-5150 (voice), (541) 463-3079 (TTY), or disabilityresources@lanecc.edu (e-mail).
3. This statement is to appear on all announcements/publications for Lane events or activities (e.g., non classroom activities such as performing arts productions, community workshops, special events, etc.)
If you need disability accommodations in order to attend or participate in this event, please contact Disability Resources (541) 463-5150 (voice) or (541) 463-3079 (TTY) at least one week in advance.
4. It is important not to violate the privacy of those with disabilities by asking them if they need accommodations. Therefore, students and community members should be informed about Disability Resources and equal access to Lane programs, rather than asked if these services will be needed by the individual.
