Geno Gutierrez shares her expertise
in fashion design at Lane |
If you fashion yourself a designer, Lane Community College has the program for you! Whether you see a future in fashion or just want to have fun, Instructor Geno (HAY-no) Gutierrez leads the fashion design series and outfits her students for success.
The fashion design series is comprised of six progressive fullterm levels. Each level builds upon the previous, reinforcing learned skills and development. Students learn all aspects of fashion design, from body measurement to developing patterns by sight.
After the successful completion of 190 hours of instruction, students will receive a Lane Community College Award of Completion and are ready for entry level positions in the field. The series culminates in a fashion show for the public which showcases and highlights each student’s creative efforts and perspective design.

Geno is a beloved Continuing Education instructor who has shared her expertise in fashion design and Spanish with Lane students for the past seven years.
The personal, one-on-one support of Lane student-instructor relations is the part of teaching Geno likes best. She loves helping students advance to the next step. One student recently returned to Geno’s classes after exploring a four year university program in fashion. She said Geno’s classes are far superior and much less expensive!
Geno furthers Lane’s core values of diversity and accessibility by instructing in both English and Spanish.
