STUDENT SERVICES
October 10, 2000 Update
PROGRESS ON STUDENT SERVICES VIEWED BY LCC PERSONNEL.
Interior activity on the Student Services building has produced spaces that are clearly defined and developed. Already, walls on the first floor are awaiting texturing and painting. Relight, or windows that span half the height of a wall, are ready for glazing. Electrical work is for all practical purposes complete. The second floor is shaping up nicely with steel stud framing almost complete. At the main entrance of the building, workers are backfilling around the first stages of concrete work for the plaza. In light of the progress on the building, various departments that will eventually be housed in the Student Services building have recently taken tours of the facility. After viewing the structure from the outside for so many months, it is always exciting for people to see the interior of the building for the first time. While there is still much to be done, with walls and windows defined, people have been able to get a good sense of the new spaces, as well as the spatial relationship of departmental locations. As usual, the camera captured your friends and colleagues from Disability Services, the Women's Center, Counseling, Financial Aid, Testing, Student Activities and the Multicultural Center as they experienced the interior of the building.
