ADDITIONAL BRICK DISIGNATES 60% MARK.
Application of the third brick on the Millennium2 Project Signs indicates that bond construction progress has reached 60 percent completion. Approximately $31.9 million of the $53.2 million budget has been expended. The budget includes the $42.8 million bond measure approved by voters, plus interest. Main campus projects underway include the Science/Math Addition, the Student Services Building, and the Health Technology Remodel. Funds also have been used to build a new center in Cottage Grove, add to the Florence center, and to build Community Learning Centers at eight county high schools.
IS YOUR DEPARTMENT MOVING WITHIN THE NEXT SIX MONTHS?
If your department will be relocating to new or remodeled areas within the next six months, the Bond Moving Team strongly encourages you to do some 'spring cleaning' during the winter months. Just like our personal residences, sometimes work materials and objects are held onto that are no longer relevant. If you possess materials that are no longer germane to your duties, here's the Moving Team's advise - get rid of 'em! Your relocation to new areas will be streamlined if you reduce, recycle, and archive those materials and objects that do not need to be transported. In so doing, labor and materials will be freed up to provide a more efficient, effective, and satisfying move.
BOND TEAM PREPARES FOR END OF TERM.
Knowing that final presentations and exams will take place during the last weeks of the term, the Bond Project Management Team is taking measures to insure the best possible atmosphere for academic activities. Individual Project Managers are encouraging construction supervisors for the Student Services, Health Tech, and Science/Math projects to focus general work efforts at more remote locations of a project, or, if at all possible, postpone disruptive work until after finals week. While construction managers are cooperating, understandably, not all activities can be moved to different areas or postponed. Therefore, if you feel a situation is disruptive to your office or classroom, be aware that a procedure for dealing with construction disruptions is available in the College Online Policy and Procedure System at http://2011sitearchive.lanecc.edu//cops/disrupt.htm.
Questions and comments about any bond construction activity may be directed to 744-4154 or e-mailed to bond@lanecc.edu. All communication received will be regularly reviewed by the Bond Project Management Team (BPMT), the architects, and the Facilities Management Committee.
