October 2, 2000 Update
OCTOBER 9TH ANTICIPATED COMPLETION DATE OF MODULARS.
While the basement of the Center building is complete, providing offices for Hospitality personnel and general use classrooms, remodeling activities continue on Modulars #30 and #31. Modular #31, which will house the Culinary Arts Demo Kitchen is scheduled for completion by October 4th, providing time for staff to prepare for classes on the 10th. LCC trades are working towards an occupancy date of October 9th for Modular 30th, which will house Hospitality and Business and Industry Services.
MIKE HOPINKSON REJOINS MANAGEMENT TEAM.
With buildings going up and site preparation being dug down, it is often easy to overlook a significant aspect of what bond monies are providing; new furnishings. The substantial task of seeing that newly constructed areas are provided with appropriate and useful furnishings will now be coordinated by Mike Hopkinson. Previously, Mike worked as a Communications Specialist for the Bond Project Management Team. With the knowledge and understanding developed in his previous position and his years of experience as an instructor here at Lane, Mike is well prepared to step into the position of Furnishings Coordinator.
