February 16, 2000 Update
COLLEGE TRADESPEOPLE:
Continue to save the college money with their quality performance, initiative and creativity. Most recently, painters Steve Wickwire and Don Migliozzi obtained special training to apply fire-proofing paint in the Welding Technology Building, saving the college half of what it would have cost to have the contractor do the work.
COMFORT LEVELS:
Will be more pressed as construction shifts into higher gear with the Student Services Building and other projects. The bond office is working with Personnel and meeting with folks who will be closest to construction sites to identify and minimize health and comfort issues as much as possible.
LTD BUS STATION:
A new LTD bus station is being designed. The current shelters are temporary. Construction of the permanent station is scheduled for this summer.
ELSEWHERE:
The Junction City learning center has exterior walls, roof trusses and interior framing, and is a little ahead of schedule. The Elmira center will open March 16. A breezeway for the Florence Center addition should be constructed soon and completed in early April.
