BOND MANAGEMENT TAPS STUDENTS' OPINIONS.

November 6, 2000

The Bond Project Management Team is able to hear regularly from faculty, staff, administration, and board members regarding their thoughts about bond construction. The one sector that has been most difficult for bond management to hear from with any regularity has been the student population. Therefore, in order to tap into students' opinions, the bond management conducted brief interviews with students on the main campus. In order to provide a forum where students' opinions regarding construction activities can be heard by all sectors, the bond web site will, from time to time, provide quotations of various students interviewed on the main campus. This week, see what students think about changed location of classrooms, closures of parking lots, and the construction climate on campus.
Publicly Speaking

Question: "How has bond construction affected you?"

An open-ended question posed within a group of outgoing students always generates multiple Responses laced with wittiness and laughter. When the camera was brought out for pictures, it was time to have a little fun between classes and ham it up. My fashionable yellow hard hat became a prop as people joined together for group pictures that would accompany their Responses; Responses that revealed a balanced view and understanding about bond construction activities.

"Parking has been a little difficult, but itíll be better. After all, itís all part of the plan for the future."
Justin ñ Marketing

"The construction is taking awhile and sometimes itís a little bit noisy and frustrating. The construction people Iíve interacted with have always been courteous."
Jamin ñ Undecided

"I think itís cool and really worth it. There has been a few annoyances, but for the most part, the construction hasnít had that big of impact on me."
Justin ñ Undecided

"The construction is really good. You gotta put up with some b.s., but it is benefiting future students and LCC will be a better place."
Mark ñ Business Management

"The only day I heard construction noise was during my Science mid-term."
Heather ñ Paramedic

"I didnít notice the noise at all during the test."
Sarah - Nursing

"The construction was very distracting the day of my Science mid-term."
Melisa ñ Nursing
