HEALTH REMODEL
July 17, 2000 Update
JULY 17TH MARKED THE OFFICIAL START OF HEALTH TECH REMODEL
by Essex Construction. The remodel will be carried out in four phases, with the first phase of work focusing on extensive remodeling to expand space for the dental program on the first floor. The total budget for the first phase is $876,746. Subsequent phases will center on upper level work and remodeling of adjacent areas for PE and Archives. The current project is scheduled to run from July through January 2001, with initial activities focusing on site preparation and demolition activities. The staging area for Essex is between the Health Tech building and the tennis courts. Public access to the health facility will continue to be available on both the first and second floor breezeways at the first floor west entrance, the stairway between PE and Health Tech, and the first level corridor between PE and Health Tech. However, the second floor stairwell on the north side of the second floor will be restricted. The Project Manager for the Health Tech Remodel is Lynn Atkins.
