CENTER 4th FLOOR REMODEL
January 28, 2002 Update
CENTER 4TH FLOOR DESIGNS REVISED.
After much discussion, Bob Mention and PUG members from EFL&S and Social Science have produced a revised 4th floor remodel plan that contains, among other things, a strongly desired element by both departments: larger classrooms. Currently, the 4th floor contains six classrooms that vary in size from 496 square feet (sf) to 1,090 sf. After the remodel, the floor will have seven classrooms ranging in size from 1,050 sf to 1,255 sf. In addition to classrooms, the remodel will also contain multiple computer classrooms/labs, tutor and listening labs, conference rooms, and offices. The main administrative offices for EFL&S and Social Science will also relocate to the west side of the floor on either side of the west stairway entrance. Construction is tentatively scheduled to occur in two phases. The bond office hopes to have preliminary plans and cost estimates by the middle of February. If development of construction plans, the bid process, and release of building permits goes smoothly, the remodel should begin in August '02 and reach completion during the summer of '03.
Questions and comments about any bond construction activity may be directed to 744-4154 or e-mailed to bond@lanecc.edu. All communication received will be regularly reviewed by the Bond Project Management Team (BPMT), the architects, and the Facilities Management Committee.
