CENTER BUILDING REMODEL
May 20, 2002 Update
CENTER 2ND FLOOR REMODEL STAYS ON TARGET.
Significant progress continues on the future home of Academic Learning Skills on the Center 2nd Floor as Lane's carpenters, electricians, and painters maintain a steady pace on completing labs, classrooms, and offices. Trades personnel are also installing ceiling tile in many areas of the remodel and they expect to begin wiring in light fixtures shortly. Carpet installation should take place the last week of May. Importantly, installation of the HVAC system is also underway; completion of HVAC work is the last major construction component within the project and is the area of work that will dictate a completion date for the remodel. Therefore, in order to make the most efficient use of available space and time, classes were moved from Center 238 to Center 244 in order that HVAC work and classes could continue uninterrupted. The Center 2nd Floor remodel is tentatively scheduled for completion the middle of June '02.
