Bond Highlights - November 22, 1999
WELDING BUILDING:
Contractor is working at a fast clip to make his Dec. 31 construction deadline. "We're keeping our fingers crossed," says Bond Project Manager Bob Mention.
CAMPUS SERVICES ADDITION:
Concrete block masonry walls will start going up this week. Underslab plumbing lines for the Laundry washers and drains have been installed. A gravel base for the floor slab is in place.
THE SCIENCE/MATH ADDITION:
pre-construction conference was held Nov. 19. Work on the addition will begin in early December. Remodeling of the existing building should begin summer 2000.
PARKING LOT LIGHT FIXTURES,
near the Child Care project are connected to power but a switch problem needs to be resolved.
CHILD CARE FACILITY:
Walls and roof trusses are up on Building 1 last week. Floor slabs are in place for Buildings 2 and 3. The perimeter foundation is in for Building 4 and underfloor piping and conduits are being installed.
THE ELDON SCHAFER MEMORIAL GINGKO,
was moved in anticipation of construction of the Student Services Building. It is "heeled in" for safekeeping until memorial grove work can be done.
THE JOB PROJECT SIGN,
for the Campus Services Addition turned up missing and a new sign is on order. The sign vendor has been instructed to install vinyl "bricks" to the 20 percent mark on the Eldon Schafer and Gonyea entrance signs. More cautionary signage is needed and will be ordered. In the meantime, staff are reminded to avoid taped-off or signed work areas for safety, and to encourage students to do the same.
