Bond Highlights - November 5, 1999
Background:
Voters passed a $42.8 million construction bond for Lane Community College in 1995. Funds were used to build a new center in Cottage Grove, add to the center in Florence, and to build learning centers at eight county high schools. Bond construction began on main campus in Eugene summer 1999 and is expected to last about two years.

Child Care Buildings
Construction schedule: July 1999-April 2000
Area: 17,449 square-feet including four buildings
Budget: $2,050,000
Location: Southwest campus
Occupants: Early Childhood Education, Infant Toddler Center, ASLCC Child Care Co-op, Lane Family Connections

Parking Lot Improvements
Construction schedule: July 1999-November 1999
Budget: $450,000
Location: Southwest campus
550 parking stalls were completed, including handicapped stalls.
Science/Math Building Addition
Site preparation completed for $327,000 by Gary Burnett Earthmoving.

Area: 36,700 square feet
Budget: $7,820,046
Location: South campus

Health Technology Remodel beginning June 2000 and ending February 2001.

Center Building Second Floor North Remodel beginning January 2001 and ending May 2001.
Center Building Fourth Floor Remodel beginning June 2001 and ending October 2001.
Performing Arts Remodel beginning September 2001 and ending February 2002.
Business Technology Remodel beginning June 2001 and ending September 2001.
Tidbits
Plans will increase current facilities by 55 classrooms, 11 computer and other labs, 15 conference and seminar rooms, and 237 offices.
Hundreds of staff have participated in planning and design through Project User Groups.
A memorial grove is planned for trees displaced by construction. The grove will be built just west of Science and include a wetlands pond.
Eldon Schafer Drive is the main construction route. A former logging road at the south perimeter of campus was upgraded summer 1999 for construction traffic to improve safety in regular parking lots and driveways.
