Bond Update - October 18, 1999
THE WELDING BUILDING
red steel superstructure is disappearing behind siding panels. Site work on the building's "yard" also is underway. The architect is gLAs Architectural Group, and the contractor is Dorman Construction.
THE CAMPUS SERVICES ADDITION
project continues to be one of rock removal and preparations to enter the existing building. The addition will house the laundry and the print shop. Construction began in September 1999 and tentative completion is scheduled for April 2000. The architect is WEGROUP. The general contractor is McKenzie Commercial Contractors.
THE SCIENCE/MATH ADDITION
construction is out for bid. Bids will be opened Nov. 9. Bond management hopes to seek contract award approval at the Nov. 10 Board of Education meeting. If a contract is awarded then, construction should start in December with a projected completion date of December 2000. The architect is gLAs Architectural Group.
PARKING LOT LANDSCAPING CONTINUES.
Grounds staff are adding soil improvements to the parking lot islands on the west side of main campus near the child care project. Temporary lighting fixtures are due to be installed soon, due to a delay in the arrival of permanent lighting fixtures.
THE CHILD CARE PROJECT
floor slab for Building 1 is complete and footing and flooring work continue on Buildings 2 and 3. Walls are being fabricated off-site and when ready, could be erected within just one or two days. Construction began in July 1999 and is tentatively scheduled for completion in April 2000. The architect is gLAs Architectural Group, and the general contractor is John Hyland Construction.
