![]() Preparations for Return of FacultyThis week, the geotechnical firm of Braun Intertec Corporation is completing the evaluation of subsurface soil conditions on LCC's main campus. The firms' recommendations and opinions will be submitted shortly in Braun's final written report. Among other things, the report will address site preparation, placement and compaction of fill materials, and preparation of floor slab areas.gLAs architects have met with Math members of the Science/Math PUG to discuss current project funding. As with the Science Department, this pro-active discussion seeks to insure that the entire project can fall within budget while allowing both departments' needs to be met. The Bond Management Team (BMT) is preparing a Fall '98 Campus Wide Update for returning faculty, staff and students. This update will utilize the Torch and the Daily, the PUG list serve, as well as campus wide distribution of official information packets. In so doing, those individuals who have been absent for the summer and have not had access to LCC's bond web page update, will be able to understand what progress has occured over the summer. Additionally, information will include descriptions of what can be expected to transpire during the current Design Development phase. The Bond Management Team (BMT) will be available at 744-4154 during summer hours to answer any questions and give information. All communication received by the BMT during the summer months will be reviewed regularly by the team, the architects and the Facilities Management Committee. | ![]() |
