Discussion of Smoking/Non-Smoking Issue
In the days since board approval of the schematic designs and accompanying budgets, there has been a lull in the fast paced activity of prior weeks. However, the Bond Management Team and the gLAs architects continue to gear up for the beginning of the Design Development phase. Additionally, the Facility Management Committee discussed the Smoking/Non-Smoking issue concerning new and remodeled areas of the campus. It was the general desire that gLAs architects be charged to design external, protected smoking areas away from doorways. While this needed portion of design will most likely take place during the Construction Design portion of the project's schedule, the Overview Team will begin working on this issue during the Design Development phase. The Bond Management Team (BMT) will be available at 744-4154 or 747-4501 Ext. 2727 during summer hours to answer any questions and give information. All communication received by the BMT during the summer months will be reviewed regularly by the team, the architects and the Facilities Management Committee.
