Project Estimates On Target
A second evaluation of the schematics has revealed that the original cost estimates that placed the project at $3.4 million over available resources were indeed inflated. Along with further architectural analysis, the John Hyland Construction Company's additional estimate indicates the overall program to be within budget. This information will allow the project to proceed without modifications to the most recent designs submitted by the PUGs. gLAs architects and the Bond Management Team presented the new information to the Facilities Management Committee on Thursday, June 18th. At that time, the FMC recommended that we move ahead and seek Board approval on July 8, 1998. More specific information will be available regarding the project with the June 29th update.
The Bond Management Team (BMT) will be available at 744-4154 or 747-4501 Ext. 2727 during summer hours to answer any questions and give information. All communication received by the BMT during the summer months will be reviewed regularly by the team, the architects and the Facilities Management Committee.
