Archive of Bond 1995 - Bond Status Report - 06/12/2002
The following Bond 1995 Projects Status Report was presented to the Lane Community College Board of Education at its June 12, 2002 meeting.
Main Campus Projects:
Workforce Training:
Completion of project is scheduled for June 21, 2002. College trades are installing cabinets and wiring for computer labs. Finish flooring is being laid. Quotes for subcontracted parts of Phase 1 of the "preparation kitchen" work are due in a week. Construction is scheduled to follow submission of quotes.
Center Building, 2nd floor North remodel-Phase 2:
The county building inspector imposed a new, costly and time consuming requirement on the project: to improve the fire rating of an exit corridor. As a result it's doubtful that the whole project will be completed by the end of Spring Term.
Center Building, 4th Floor Remodel:
Contract documents are 99% complete. Plans and specifications have been submitted to the County for review and permit. The bond office has found temporary space for 4th floor occupants. Moves are scheduled to begin in July. Engineers continue to look for ways to make HVAC system more energy efficient. While every effort will be made to complete the remodel in 11 months, a "fall-back" contingency is being prepared. This contingency allows about half of the floor to be occupied by Fall Term '03 and the remaining half occupied by the end of Fall Term.
Archives:
Plans are moving forward to relocate college archives in the Center building basement. This is a temporary measure.
Sewage Lagoon Upgrade:
Nothing new to report.
Library:
Construction documents to remodel the northwest portion of the Library have been submitted to the County for review and permit purposes. Documents have been sent to local subcontractors for quotes on work not done by our trades. This work is scheduled to be completed during the summer.
General Comments:
The Welding Technology Building, Addition to Campus Services Building, Parking Lot Improvements, Child Care Center, Math-Science Addition, Bus Station, Student Services Building, Central Plant Upgrade, Phase 1, Health Tech., Center building 2nd floor north, Phase 1, P.A.-P.E. ramp, the Addition to Performing Arts and Central Plant Upgrade have all been completed.
