Child Care Center:
Construction of the storage sheds and sand box shelters by LCC crews should be completed by the end of February.

Science/Math:
The South and East additions to the old Science building have been completed and are being furnished and used by the Science Department. The West addition and new Greenhouse are on schedule to be completed today.

Dale Parnell Loop was opened for use last week. The contractor is scheduled to achieve substantial completion of the building by May 1 and the first occupants will be moved into the building shortly thereafter.

Workforce Training:
The college has contracted with Chambers Construction Company of Eugene to build the center. Actual on-site work has started. Construction of a free-standing elevator between the Business and Student Services Buildings is a part of this project. Building construction of the entire project is scheduled to be complete by April 1, 2002. Departments and activities will move in over the summer. The Center is expected to be fully operational for Fall Term, 2002.

Health Tech. Remodel, Phase 1:
The contractor is 100% complete. New dental chairs and cabinets have been installed. Dental supplies, furnishings and equipment is scheduled to be in place for occupancy starting spring term.

Infrastructure Upgrade:
No work scheduled for this period.

Sewage Lagoon Upgrade
DEQ supports LCC's continuing efforts to tie into the Metro Waste Water System as the final solution.

LTD Bus Station
Everything is complete except the clock installation, some signage and landscaping. The clocks and signage should be complete by early March and the landscaping will be done this summer.

Performing Arts Addition:
Construction documents are on schedule to be completed by February 15, 2001. The project will go out to bid shortly thereafter.

Center Building 1st floor Remodel:
Planning process with Food Service and Culinary Arts is continuing.

Central Plant Upgrade:
Bids for upgrading the chilled water system portion of the project have been opened and the low bid was below the budget amount. Chilled water is the basis for the air conditioning in the buildings. A recommendation to award a contract to the low bidder will come before you later this evening.

Classrooms:
As requested by the Board Chair, a report about the net gain in classroom space generated by the Bond project will be presented as a hand-out at the meeting.

General Comments:

The peak period of Bond construction activity has just passed. From this time forward, the amount of construction activity will diminish until it concludes a couple of years from now. While construction activity will diminish, other work done by LCC trades and the Bond Project Team is increasing. The term "other work" includes buying/installing furnishings and moving departments and activities into temporary and permanent space. We will be working very hard over the next 8 months to move people out of the Apprenticeship building and T&D modulars and into Student Services and the Science-Math buildings.

Questions and comments about any bond construction activity may be directed to 744-4154 or e-mailed to
bond@lanecc.edu. All communication received will be regularly reviewed by the Bond Project Management Team (BPMT), the architects, and the Facilities Management Committee.
