The following Bond 1995 Projects Status Report was presented to the Lane Community College Board of Education at its November 8, 2000 meeting.
Community Learning Centers:
All Community Learning Centers: All CLC's are operating.
Main Campus Projects:
Welding Technology Building:
The building is complete and in operation.

The contractor will replace the tricyle paths. The fences have been installed around the play yards. Construction of the storage sheds and sand box shelters will have to be delayed until after the paths have been redone.
Campus Service Addition:
The building is complete and in operation. The added boiler and storage tank are being tested.
Science/Math:
Remodeling of the existing Science building has been completed and Fall Term classes are being held. Construction of the west, south and east additions is proceeding. The current schedule shows the south and east additions being completed by Dec. 15, '00 and the west addition completion in February, '01.
Student Services:
Window glazing is 70% complete. Drywall is 85% complete. Construction of ADA entrance ramp has started. Metal roofing is 90% complete. Project is on schedule.
Workforce Training:
The site excavation package has been completed. Bid documents have been distributed to bidders and bids are scheduled to be opened on November 30, 2000. The latest construction cost estimate shows that the project is within the target budget amount. At its December meeting the Board will be asked to award a contract to the lowest responsible bidder if all goes as hoped. A separate contract for the WFTC building management control system is planned. The Board will be asked to award that contract at its December meeting also.
Health Tech. Remodel:
Steel stud framing is 99% complete. HVAC, electrical and mechanical rough-in are 85% complete. Exterior brick is 90% complete. Essex Construction Co. has done an outstanding job in meeting the needs of the instructors and students on the floor above.

Furnishings:
The Bond office is continuing to gather and develop information needed to prepare a "Furnishings Plan" to present to the Facilities Management Team for review at its November meeting.
General Comments:
"Skybridge passes endurance test". On Oct. 19th, a large tractor-trailor rig grazed the new "skybridge" between the Student Services building and the Apprenticeship building. Fortunately the rig was going slow and caused only cosmetic damage to the skybridge. As a result, the bottom of the skybridge will be raised to preclude this from reoccurring.
The Glassworkers union local #740 put pickets at both entrances to the college on the morning of Oct. 20, '00. The Glassworkers have a grievance against Lane County Glass which is a subcontractor on the Math-Science project. However, in my opinion, this was an illegal action since the pickets caused workers on the Student Services and Health Tech. Projects to not work. The College has asked Hyland Construction Co. deal with this problem since the grievance is against one of their subcontractors. The College is not responsible.
Questions and comments about any bond construction activity may be directed to 744-4154 or e-mailed to bond@lanecc.edu. All communication received will be regularly reviewed by the Bond Project Management Team (BPMT), the architects, and the Facilities Management Committee.
