Archive of Bond 1995 - Bond Status Report - 6/14/2000
The following Bond 1995 Projects Status Report was presented to the Lane Community College Board of Education at its June 14, 2000 meeting.
Community Learning Centers
Yesterday an "Open house" was held at the Junction City CLC. Classes will be held starting Summer term. All Community Learning Centers have now been completed and are in operation.
Main Campus Projects:
Welding Technology:
The building has been completed and classes of the welding and jewelry programs are being held. There are still a few things which need to be done by our Facilities staff and the contractor.
Child Care Center:
This project is on schedule.
Building #1 has been completed and the Child Care Resource Connection has been moved from its former location on Willamette Street and is now in operation. Building #2 is scheduled for completion by the end of June. Buildings #3 & 4 are scheduled for completion in early July.
Campus Service Addition:
Despite a few last minute code issues Occupancy permits have been issued and both Printing/Graphics and Laundry have been moved and are now in operation.
Science/Math:
The structural steel frame is 90% in place, 50% of the concrete decks have been poured, exterior steel studs are being placed and the HVAC units have been placed. Remodel of the existing Science building has started and is scheduled to be completed by late September in time for Fall Term classes.
Student Services:
Our "Dream Job" continues; Construction is on schedule and there have been few problems. The structural steel frame is being erected and the steel deck is being placed.
Workforce Training:
Some changes have had to be made in the schedule of this project due to health problems in the architect's office. The project will not be ready to go out to bid until September instead of August as previously planned. This means that construction will not begin until November. Consequently, the project will be broken into 2 parts: Site Preparation and the building itself. This is similar to what was done for the Math/Science project. The plan is for Site Preparation work to be done this summer.
Health Tech. Remodel:
Bids for Phase 1 of this project have been opened and the low bid is within our budget. The Board will be asked to award a contract later in this meeting. Construction should begin in July and completion is planned for next February.
Infrastructure Upgrade
No change from May report.
Sewage Lagoon Upgrade
A proposal to share the sewer lagoons with the Oregon Military Department will be presented to the Board later in this meeting.
LTD Bus Station
Bid documents went out to bidders on June 6th. Bids are to be opened June 23rd. It is important to begin construction as soon as possible so as to complete work by the start of Fall Term 2000. There will be more about this later in this meeting.
