Job Description
Sheet metal workers fabricate, layout and install sheet metal products.
Qualifications
- H.S. Diploma (2.0 GPA) or GED (score of 230/2300)
- Minimum of one year of high school algebra with a grade of 'C' or better (or equivalent).
Equivalent may be one term of College Algebra Math 60 and 65 or Math 70 with a grade of 'C' or better.
- Must be at least 18 years of age
*Local apprenticeship committee may require additional qualifications.
Working Conditions
The work is performed both indoors and out, using scaffolding, ladders, and high lifts, and in awkward positions and cramped spaces. Sheet metal workers may work in shops performing fabrication work or on construction sites, doing installation.
Minimum Rate of Pay
$23.28 per hour

The apprenticeship agreement combines both the on-the-job experience and classroom related training instruction over a period of four years. A minimum of 144 hours of related training per year is recommended.
