Job Description
Plumbers assemble, install and repair pipes, fittings, medical gas systems
and fixtures of heating, water and drainage systems, such as sinks, toilets,
bathtubs, water heaters, hot water tanks, garbage disposal units, dishwashers
and water according to specifications and plumbing codes.
Qualifications
- H.S. Diploma or GED
- Knowledge of basic Algebra
- Valid Oregon driver's license
- Must be at least 18 years of age
*Local apprenticeship committee may require additional qualifications.
Working Conditions
The work is done indoors and outdoors, in existing and newly constructed buildings, in all kinds of weather,
and around noise, dirt and mud. Plumbers often work in cramped areas and in awkward positions.
Minimum Rate of Pay
$26.00 per hour

Related Training
The apprenticeship agreement combines both the on-the-job experience and classroom related training
instruction over a period of four years. A minimum of 144 hours of related training per year is recommended.

requirements for both related training and general education.
